2.      Understand Your Finger Shape

Depending on your finger shape, the size and fit of your ring may differ. For instance, if you have a tapered finger shape, your ring may fit the tightest around the base and require to be caution over rings slipped off your finger due to smaller knuckle. This means that tapered fingers need a more narrow band to feel the tighter fit.

If you have a big-knuckled finger, your finger may be tighter around the knuckle. You may need to measure both your knuckle and finger and select a size that lays in between the two. This allows you to slide your ring over your knuckle without too much struggle.

3.      The Ring Band Width

Rings with thicker bands can have a more comfortable fit when there is more metal embracing your finger. However, it would be recommended for you to consider one size up as the wider band will fit slightly tighter. For a thinner band, it will cover less of your finger which may cause you to feel a looser fit.

Keep in mind, that the bandwidth for men and women is always different.

4.      How to measure ring size from home

If you are planning to get yourself a ring by shopping online, it can be tricky to select the ring size accurately. Let’s dive into some ways you can utilize when you start questioning yourself on – how to find your ring size at home: -

[A] Measure ring size DIY way - Use of Paper or String and Ruler

One of the simplest ways to guess your ring size is to use a string or piece of paper and a ruler.

First, wrap either paper or string around your finger.

Next, use a pen to mark where both ends meet. Use the millimeter side of the ruler to measure the marked area for the ring size circumference.

Proceed to refer to the International ring size chart to choose your perfect ring size.

[B] Use of a Ring Sizer

You can consider getting a plastic ring sizer at home or you can use this printed ring size chart* to determine the closest measurement to your finger. If you have a knotted finger, it is ideal to measure both your knuckles and your finger base.

Once you have determined the measurements of both knuckles and finger base using a ring sizer, it is easier to determine the size that fits between them.

[C] Use Another Ring

If you already have a ring that fits you well, you can use that ring as a guide. Measure the inner diameter of your ring with a ruler and refer to the International Ring Size Chart to match the ring size available.

5.      How to measure ring size secretly and accurately?

You could either measure ring size from existing ring for the actual size or find out by asking their close friends. Another alternative is getting your hands on a ring your partner already wears and proceeding to consult a jeweler for ring size advice. If you are still unsure, it is better to get an oversized ring first as you may still have the option to resize the ring later on.

6.      Can I resize my ring?

If there is a sign of slipping or a swollen finger after a tight fit, you may need to resize. It is best for you to always consult a professional jeweler for guidance, as there are limitations in the resizing process that may affect the ring’s quality. Unfortunately, we did not offer any ring resizing service for rings from Zhulian Jewellery, make sure you choose the accurate ring size when you checkout.
